In the food business world you only get one chance to make a good first impression. As someone who has tried pizza in over 100 cities in various countries, I tend to be a little picky when it comes to my pie. And very few pizza joints or restaurants rarely wow me on the first visit.
Riggatti's got it right as soon as I parked in front of their building. It was easy to find parking, even during lunch and as soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by a smiling young lady who said "hello, welcome to Riggatti's".
After I placed my order I looked around the restaurant and saw a bunch of funny pictures, it's nice to see that the owner has a sense of humor. As I was waiting another employee stepped out from the back, greeted me with a smile and asked if I needed anything. I said no thanks and thought to myself, "they are well trained."
I was expecting to wait the normal 10-15 minutes but I barely checked one of my social media accounts when all of the sudden my pizza was delivered to me, ready to take home. I had forgotten this place used wood burning ovens that got up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit, so the pizza cooked really fast.
The great thing about wood-fired ovens is that the dough rises almost to perfection and all the flavors get sealed in. When I arrived home to share the pizza with my family, we were all floored. Everyone kept saying how delicious the pizza was and that someone should kick my butt for only bringing one pie home. I am surprised at the reviews that say the pizza was "bland"; my experience was the complete opposite.
So far this is the best tasting pizza I've had in this area. Someone asked me how it compared to Cost Co pizza down the street, I raised my eyebrow, gave them a funny look and then gave them a Chuck Norris roundhouse to the dome! -

This place ROCKS. Not only is it one of the Best wood fired pizza places in town but the customer service is phenomenal.
We came in Saturday night 6-8-19 and they were great.
I'm a huge pizza lover and this place was 12/10.
Best pizza in within 100 miles of Saint George. -

The pizza here is pretty good! Simple pizzas that are great to eat yourself or for sharing! They come out pretty quick and I'm a timely manner. The restaurant is very cute and well decorated. I love the upstairs seating. It's all family style, but the lighting on the ceiling so very cute!
The only reason why I took off a star is that I wish this restaurant had a bit more traditional Italian appetizers and desserts. In a small town, there is not a lot of traditional "Italian" food and I think that would help and make this restaurant a bit more authentic! Cannolis would have be great! Either way next time I am in St. George, I'll be back! -

So staying in Washington UT just outside of St George and we didn't want to go out. So open up GrubHub to see what's available for delivery.
Wood fired pizza sounded great. Placed order and started getting ready for some good pizza.
Then GrubHub calls to inform me that the specialty pizza I ordered had ingredients apparently out of stock so I just go with pepperoni and a salad.
Pizza is delivered and time to dig in.
Split the salad up and seems good to go. Ingredients are crispy and fresh but nothing special just a decent salad u til I get toward the end and bite into what looks like lettuce but ends up being a napkin... maybe an ingredient separator. Whatever, not good quality control.
After a few minutes of trying not to let my imagination run wild and a quick rinse with vodka I go for the pizza. Yet another lackluster food experience here in Utah.
Crust was underdone On one half and very thin. Sauce was bland and nonexistent. And the cheese even more lackluster. Frankly would have been better off going with Pizza Hut.
My stomach can't wait to leave southern Utah. -

Listen Ive been eating Ny/Nj/Philly pizza my whole life and ive gotta say i was shocked by how good this pizza was. Really impressive stuff. The fire is great. Another30-50 years and that oven is gonna be kicking out some gorgeous pies. Both the dough and sauce tastes home made, theres effort in this pizza. Well done.
